Experiencing the pride & passion of India – cricket every year in November with Gubba!

Gubba Premier League – season 5 – A 7 day exclusive cricket tournament for Indian Pharma Industry & Indian Seed Industry!

2 months of extensive planning is what led to the execution of GPL. The GPL crew did a recce on the best cricket grounds of Hyderabad & finalized – Sreshta grounds, Shamirpet for its world class ambience.

Registrations were open one month before the tournament to pharma & seed companies from all over India on first come first serve basis. However, despite receiving 30 registrations, as per the schedule, we could have 22 teams participate in the tournament.

To maintain the integrity of the game, we had the cricket officials from Hyderabad Cricket Association ( umpires & scorers ) advising us on designing the rules & regulations of the game on the back end & also on the pitch.

We dedicated a color to each team as their identity & had their uniforms customized accordingly. Each team was welcomed individually on our social media platforms having a reach of 1,00,000+

The excited teams started practicing for the tournament a month before its commencement.

It took 72 hours for the ground to be ready for the tournament, we ensured impeccable décor with signage board for ease, welcome flags for each team, an area dedicated for team to have fun, capture memories & revive the old GPL days with a huge nostalgic picture board.

The ground was open to any & every team member’s family, friends & colleague. On each day, we witnessed 300-350 people come on the ground to cheer for their teams.

Our MD, Gubba Nagender Rao, personally curated the buffet menu for all 7 days, starting right from widespread south Indian breakfast to Indo-Asian lunch & hi-tea with snacks that no one could say no. We had protein powder, peanut butter bread, bananas run throughout the crowd for the players to stay hydrated & have high-energy throughout the game.

We knew a set of fans could not be on the ground despite wanting to be, hence to have that settled, we deployed live streaming of all the matches, making our audience go gala & flood our youtube with cheering comments & having 35,000 views online throughout the tournament!
