Hyderabad, 13 October 2026: The Seedsmen Association of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, hosted an informative lecture by Mr. Venkatnarayan Head – Corporate Services, Advanta Enterprises Limited, on the benefits of solar energy for the seed industry and its role in promoting environmental sustainability.
During the session, Mr. Venkatnarayan highlighted the potential of solar energy as a renewable power source that can help industries reduce electricity expenses while minimising their carbon footprint and saving fossil fuel. He emphasised that the seed industry, being energy-intensive, can benefit significantly from adopting solar power as a long-term strategy for operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
He explained that solar energy adoption can substantially reduce dependence on conventional electricity and create opportunities to earn carbon credits, contributing to broader environmental sustainability goals.
A key highlight of the lecture was the availability of solar installation models that require no upfront investment. Under such arrangements, seed companies can pay the solar provider for the electricity generated over an agreed period, typically four to five years, with the possibility of owning the solar system thereafter. With an expected operating life of approximately 25 to 30 years, these installations can offer long-term energy cost benefits while supporting environmental conservation.
Also expressed his willingness to extend free guidance for improving the ecosystem to the members of the seed fraternity for establishing solar power plants through suitable financing models without upfront investment.
The session underscored the importance of renewable energy adoption in building a more cost-effective, environmentally responsible, and sustainable seed industry, while encouraging industry stakeholders to explore practical solutions that benefit both business operations and future generations.
