Britannia increasing whole grain content in its products as part of its commitment to health: Nusli Wadia

Biscuit major Britannia Industries chairman Nusli Wadia said the company is increasing whole grain contents while reducing sugar and sodium levels in its products in line with its commitment to health and wellness.

Addressing shareholders in the company’s 106th annual general meeting held virtually on Monday, Wadia said the company will continue to enhance the profile of its products. He did not specify further details.

Britannia in its FY25 annual report said between 2018-19 and 2024-25, the company has increased the wholegrain content in its products by more than three-and-a-half times and reduced the sugar and sod ..

Wadia said FY25 was also marked by evolving consumer preferences, shifting market dynamics and accelerating digital transformation. “Amidst this challenging environment the company responded with agility and stayed resilient in the packaged food industry,” he said.

Britannia has implemented comprehensive cost efficiency measures across the value chain to drive productivity and mitigate inflationary pressures, said Wadia.
