Our Seed Our Planet – An Afforestation Initiative for million trees

Gubba is connected with seeds since 34 years by preserving the life in seed. Being a cold storage company seed preservation has become our forte season by season , year after year. We have given our everything to ensure that the seed germinates.

In 2020, Gubba launched “Our Seed Our Planet”(OSOP) – An afforestation initiative, its CSR project is working for expansion of forest green cover by using drones to broadcast seed balls in the deforested areas in the forests of Telangana.

In 2020, we broadcasted 10,000 seedballs in Amangal forest. This year, 2021, we have decided to expand our vision by over 10 times. We will cause a million trees touching various communities causing growth and development.

The idea behind using the technology of drone is to reach high terrain areas where it is not possible for humans to reach and do plantation. The seed balls for OSOP are made by local villagers, an induced community project for financial empowerment of locals.

OSOP is proudly a part of Hara Bahara, initiated by our KTR that visions to make India a greener place to live in plant 1 billion Trees through Drones by 2030.

The mission of OSOP was supported by SeedWorks, Syngenta and Ganga Kaveri under their CSR activities for 2021. We availed technical support from Marut drones of Hyderabad.

Coming to the real deal of seedballs, we had 17-20 localities of Bhongir get involved in the process of making seedballs. They made 1,00,000 seedballs in a week’s time with red soil, black soil and charcoal to suit the individual forest terrains.

On advice of local forest officers, we purchased the following variety of seeds from a local seed merchant in Dachepally –

1. Cashia Fistula

2. Seethaphal

3. Chintha

4. Moduga

5. Alsi

6. Neem
