Meet the woman who plays a key role in Rs 4.35 lakh crore pharma empire

Vidhi Shanghvi is the daughter of India’s richest healthcare billionaire Dilip Shanghvi. She plays an important role in her fathers Rs 4.35 lakh crore pharmaceutical empire Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. As Vice President and Head of Consumer Healthcare, Nutrition, and India Distribution, she has been vital in shaping the company’s strategic direction for over a decade.
Dilip Shanghvi founded Sun Pharma and is the wealthiest Indian in the health care sector boasting a net-worth of $29.2 billion as of December 15, according to Forbes.
Vidhi, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, is well-equipped to carry forward the legacy of the pharmaceutical giant.
Apart from her leadership role at the company, Vidhi serves as a non-executive director at Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Limited (SPARC), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company spun off from Sun Pharma.
Before leading the Consumer Division, she gained experience by working in Sun Pharma India Business’s marketing function.
Additionally, Vidhi has also taken up mental health advocacy. She founded a non-profit initiative aimed at empowering individuals to prioritise their mental well-being. The platform provides free and holistic mental health solutions, reflecting her passion for creating a meaningful social impact.
