He said this collaboration will provide opportunities to the students to gain practical industry skills, industry insights and help them achieve a professional network through internships. Further, the tie-up will help the pharmacy students to develop entrepreneurial skills to do startups soon after their graduation.
For availing research funds and grants from UGC and other agencies, this collaboration will help the students and institutions to undertake innovative research programmes. With the support of the university each institution can diversify their research areas.
When contacted the industry leader J Jayaseelan, chairman of the TN IDMA, he said he is an alumnus of the Madras Pharmacy College, and along with him 25 industry leaders including the chairman of the Pharmexcil, Dr. SV Veeramani, will also participate.
