Rice Knowledge Bank, Assam
To bridge the gap between research and practice in rice production, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), in collaboration with the Government of Assam, Assam Agriculture University, and the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project developed the Rice Knowledge Bank, Assam (RKB, Assam)—a digital extension service that provides practical knowledge solutions, specialized for small-scale farmers for the state of Assam.

ARIAS Society
Assam Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Services (ARIAS) Society is the apex state level agency for coordinating and monitoring World Bank aided projects mainly in the agriculture, agribusiness and rural development domains. ARIAS Society was incorporated in November 1998, as an autonomous body of Agriculture Department. The Society is headed by Chief Secretary as its President and the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) as Chairman. Key mandates of ARIAS Society are: Manage, coordinate, implement World Bank aided projects, other externally funded projects and any other projects as authorized by Government, and to monitor implementation performance of line departments. The Society has already completed two World Bank projects i.e. Assam Rural Infrastructure & Agricultural Services Project (ARIASP) from 1995 to 2004 and Assam Agricultural Competitiveness Project (AACP) from 2005-2015. The Society is now managing the third project in the series viz. Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART). Another Project currently being managed by ARIAS Society is Assam Citizen Centric Services Delivery Project (ACCSDP).

APART
Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) is the third Project in series in the area of Agriculture and Agribusiness to be managed by ARIAS Society. The major focus of APART is promoting climate resilient production and processing of prioritized agriculture and allied commodities, investment promotion, agri entrepreneurship development, efficient marketing including market intelligence and credit linkage etc. The project is adopting a value chain and clusters approach. The Project Development Objective (PDO) of APART is to “add value and improve resilience of selected agriculture value chains, focusing on smallholder farmers and agro-entrepreneurs in targeted districts of Assam”.
